Having spent my formative young years in New England, I’ll likely always call it home. But there’s no denying the 22 years I lived in Georgia, and the impact they've had on me. I fought my love of the South for years, but eventually let down my snooty northern guard and allowed myself to explore her many gifts. I learned so much from the time spent meandering Alabama, Tennessee, Georgia, and the Carolinas, and the folks that took the time to school me on stereotypes vs. the reality of life in the tiny rural towns we zip past on the way from one big city to the next. Yesterday I finally settled on a name for my RV - meet Dixie, a tribute to the faces and places I remember and love, the same ones I look forward to seeing again in the coming months.
